MEET MARK

I bring a unique combination of operational leadership, business strategy, and residential construction experience to every project and client relationship.

My professional background includes more than 25 years of leadership and operational management experience, including overseeing multimillion-dollar operations, opening and scaling new markets, and leading teams focused on growth, quality, and execution. Over the past 17+ years, my work has focused heavily on luxury residential remodeling, design-build project development, cabinetry operations, and construction leadership.

I previously founded and operated my own design-build company for nearly 15 years before successfully selling the business. Since then, I have held leadership roles with some of the Washington region’s most respected residential remodeling firms, including roles focused on business development, operations, project leadership, process improvement, and market growth.

What continues to drive me most is helping clients navigate complexity. Whether working with a business owner refining operations, a homeowner planning a major renovation, or a client seeking experienced representation during construction, I believe successful projects come from thoughtful planning, honest communication, disciplined systems, and accountability throughout the process.

As a business coach and mentor, I work with successful chief executive officers and company leadership teams to improve profitability, navigate business transactions and challenges of all sizes, and create long-term growth strategies.

MY PHILOSOPHY

As you can imagine, I’ve been approached by or worked with a number of different business consultants. Most have the same philosophy – coaching to grow top-line revenue (sales). There’s absolutely nothing wrong with this philosophy or focus; it just never called to me. I never aspired to have 50 employees or to remodel 75 kitchens a year or be so big I couldn’t possibly personally know all my customers.

LEADERS WHO LEAD

Focusing on your own compensation and work/life balance is just as important as revenue growth. Infusing the intention behind why you started your company, even many years down the road, motivates your team. Operating with unwavering integrity delivers honest, maximum value. Success starts with leaders who lead, meaning they set the tone and make people feel valued, appreciated, and successful. Leaders who are calm in chaos and bring together business strategy, strong financials, and personal ethics in a way that makes sense for their organization.

SETTING THE STANDARD

Business strategies must differentiate the company from its competitors, and be clear, simple and easy to understand. The business needs effective and efficient processes and procedures to protect and grow the bottom line. Leaders must set performance standards and clearly communicate them to employees — keeping everyone focused on the company’s value proposition and core competencies. Performance must continually be reassessed with tough questions asked to validate that the company is on track.
